Life has a timely way of reminding us what’s important and what’s not.
I do believe all things happen for a reason but sometimes tracing that reason proves to be a hard feat.
Not to be cynical or morbid but we never know when it’ll be our time to leave this earth and I think our heart’s mandate should be to die empty. As Myles Munroe has put it so succinctly we must leave this life having achieved all that we were created to do.
I know I’ve mentioned purpose and destiny in previous posts but I feel the need to revisit those sentiments as I think it’s so important. In December my fist cousin ended her battle with cancer and went on to glory. Last week Monday, February 22nd, I lost my uncle to sclerosis of the liver. As sad as deaths can be, I think in cherishing the good times we should also use these seemingly untimely events to motivate us to achieve our life’s best. Truthfully, we never know when it could be us.
My goal isn’t to make you sad or fearful but more-so aware. There’s a plan for your life and each new day is an opportunity to tap into the destiny ordained for you. DO IT! I think there’s nothing more beautiful than fulfilling your life’s purpose; I mean, that is why you’re here, right?
I hope this acts as the motivation you need to jump right on it!
For me, I have this funny suspicion that my purpose is way bigger than me, and that excites me more than words could ever explain.
Sometimes, I question if people allow their minds to expand passed all that we see. The clothes, TV shows or whatever media is being forced at us, their appearance on and off of social media, politics.. and the list goes on. To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with these pass times either but if they’re consuming you or better yet, deterring you form your purpose- something’s gotta give…
What about if I don’t know where to start?
That’s cool, you’re not supposed to have all the answers. Truthfully, I’m still figuring things out myself. What I can say is, I try my best to align myself with God. He’s the creator of the universe as well as lil ol’ me. So I think I’m in fine company when I’m abiding with Him, as He knows everything about me :).
The doors that have opened in my life after letting Him in have been a complete shock and many times I feel undeserving. I’m excited about what’s to come and I think when you know, you just know. It just feels right…. Does that make sense? I hope so! Life is continuously beautiful with Him and I can say that with all surety based off my own experiences.
James 4:2,3 says:
You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
If you want to know what your purpose is, ask! On your quest to be in alignment with your purpose do make sure you’re doing so for the right reasons. I firmly believe the plan for our lives always includes helping others along the way.
The time is now! Each passing day could be a missed opportunity. I don’t think we should live the same way each year then call that a life.
